- Mar, 2006 Operation Hope- Donation to remote areas of Inner Mongolia:
Since year 2004, WTC has been sponsoring RMB 23,600 per year to 20 primary school students in remote areas of Inner Mongolia.
- Apr, 2006 Tree Planting:
Employees together with their family members participated in tree-planting activities conducted by Environmental Bureau which is the fifth annual activity since 2002.
- May, 2006 Social Club Members of WTC as Volunteers Participated in Popularizing Electronic Bus Card Activities:
With the help of Beijing Municipal Committee of Communication, Beijing Transportation Management Bureau, China Communist Youth League Beijing Committee, Beijing Volunteer Association and Social Club members of WTC as volunteers participated in the Popularizing the use of Electronic Bus Cards. Our colleagues helped transportation system employees to promote the electronic bus pass procedures, introduce bus card knowledge and circulate brochures to citizens.
- Jun, 2006 Social Club Members Bring Their Love to Disabled Orphan Home:
Social Club members spent 5 hours travelling time driving to the special home where more than 20 staff members and 100 physical disabled or mentally retarded orphans live. These children are living in a different life style overcoming their challenging tough and hard lives with their positive attitude and strong mind. Social club members brought clothes, food and books donated by WTC staff to the children.
- Oct, 2006 Walking for 2008---Beijing International Long Walk Conference (2006): Representatives of social club members of WesTrac China took part in the 21km long walk activity which impressed on social club members the idea that is “strengthen your physical condition, have enthusiasm for life, test your mind, challenge yourself and enhance friendship”. Attendees received a Long Walk Certificate when they finished and enjoyed the experience and fun.
- Oct, 2006 Environmental Protection Activity Held in Golden Autumn through Visiting Beijing Quadrangle Yard:
On the morning of Oct. 21st, WesTrac China staff members joined the environmental protection activity response of the Fesco Branch of Beijing Volunteer Association to conduct a survey on environmental protection through visiting residents living in a traditional quadrangle yard located in Gulouyuan, East District. They talked environmental protection issues with local residents, learnt of the need for environmental protection and assisted in the collection of waste materials for the o recycle centre.
- Oct, 2006 Visit to Songtang Hospice:
The 30th of October, 2006 was the traditional Chinese Chong Yang festival day which is celebrated on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month and it is known as the Double Ninth Festival or the old men’s festival. On this occasion representatives of WesTrac social club members visited Songtang hospice to see those impressive aged people living there once again. The visit to Songtang Hospice is also one of our programs for new employee’s orientation.
- Nov, 2006 WTC Social Club Members Visiting Bethel Foster Home:
On Thanksgiving Day last Nov 23rd (also a big festival in America); WTC social club members visited Bethel Foster Home. They played games with them and brought special reading materials for the over 30 orphans who are either blind or are visually impaired. The youngest age is one year old and the eldest is aged twenty.
Variety of activities for employees, including soccer game’s playing basket ball, badminton, swimming etc.
