Title：12 units of CAT G3406 Gas Generator Sets successfully operated in LiaoHe oilfield

The first CAT G3406 generator set was successfully commissioned and operated in LiaoHe Oilfield on April 12, 2006. For the very first time, Caterpillar gas generator set is being used in oilfield and lock-in this market as the power equipment which was dominated by an alternative brand. Through the effort and professional technical preparation by our industry & petroleum team, we have finally won the deal and signed up 12 X G3406 in June 2005. The generator sets have been successfully delivered to the customer in early April 2006. In order to maintain our reputation we arranged an experienced engineer to furnish the mountings and commissioning and provided on-job training. The customer was very impressed on the installation and training provided by WesTrac Power Systems and in addition, a Caterpillar expert was invited to provide information on the operating and maintenance of gas generators.

Through the effort and hard work done on technical analysis from the application engineer’s team in Power Systems, a 3412-720kW generator has been officially used in Northern China oilfield since June 2006. This is the first time Caterpillar 3400 series generators have been used in top drive drilling and the good news is the unit has replaced the original two 400kW competitive units. Users expressed their satisfaction on the quality as well as the recognition of Caterpillar generators after the unit had been operating for a number of months
